George Fox Evangelical Seminary is a multi-denominational, evangelical, university-based seminary committed to equipping women and men academically, spiritually, emotionally and theologically for ministry in the church and world. We are located in Portland, Ore., and offer the opportunity to attend class one day per week on a full- or part-time basis, or as a part of an online extended classroom virtual learning community for those interested in distance learning. George Fox University also offers graduate degrees in psychology, management, education and counseling.

Distance Education	Virtual Learning Community (VLC) programs are a hybrid of online distance education with classroom face-to-face gatherings on the Portland Center campus twice a year (master's programs) or elsewhere (Doctor of Ministry programs). These programs are designed for students living in any geographic location seeking a distance learning online experience. In the Virtual Learning Community, students complete the majority of their coursework in an online web learning environment engaging with readings, asynchronous discussions, chats, and/or video presentations each week. Virtual Learning Community students gather in person for face-to-face classroom instruction at dates specified by each program.

Study Abroad	Students in the seminary's Global Missional Leadership DMin program participate in three face-to-face learning experiences in Europe, Africa, and Asia of around 10 days each. Students engage Dr. Jason Clark and guest scholars, share their research in seminars, engage students and faculty at the host location, visit nearby missional communities, and visit in-person with their advisor.
